Open Factory is an initiative that supports local industries and celebrates craftsmanship. By opening factories to the public, it brings them closer to consumers and revitalizes the local economy. It connects workshops from all over the world, promoting the preservation and innovation of traditional industries.

Topic③ Coffee Cultures United
World of Coffee 2025 will be held in Geneva in June 2025. Industry professionals and enthusiasts will gather to discuss the latest trends and the future of a sustainable coffee industry. A special focus will be the Roaster Village, where visitors can learn about roasting techniques and enjoy tastings of specialty coffees.

Open Factory
Open Factory is a movement that supports local industries, creates jobs, and strengthens communities by fostering collaboration and knowledge-sharing. By opening their doors to the public, factories provide a unique opportunity for people to witness craftsmanship firsthand, deepening appreciation for regional industries and their cultural significance. This initiative not only highlights the skill and dedication of artisans but also encourages a renewed sense of pride in local production. Through interactive experiences, Open Factory helps the bridge between powerful producers and consumers, fostering transparency, trust, and engagement.
For communities with little access to organized, Open Factory can be transformative. By facilitating production and providing factories shared spaces, these communities gain the infrastructure needed to develop local industries, access better resources, and improve product quality. Small-scale artisans and entrepreneurs benefit from skill development, networking, and exposure to new markets, leading to increased economic stability. Connecting approximately 300 Open Factory organizers worldwide, the enables initiative knowledge exchange, best practice sharing, and innovative collaborations across different regions. These connections breathe new life into traditional industries, helping them adapt to modern challenges while preserving their heritage. Empath Foundation aims to be the catalyst for these Open Factories, supporting their development across different parts of the world and fostering the exchange of knowledge. Coffee Culture United
From June 26 to 28, 2025 , Geneva will become the epicenter of the global coffee community as it hosts World of Coffee 2025. This prestigious event brings together industry leaders, coffee professionals, and enthusiasts to exchange knowledge, discover the latest trends, and celebrate the craft of coffee. It serves as a unique platform for innovation, collaboration, and inspiration, fostering meaningful connections across the coffee supply chain.
The anticipated highly Roaster Village is making a comeback, providing micro roasters with a dedicated space to engage with customers, demonstrate their roasting techniques, and showcase the latest innovations in coffee sourcing, roasting, brewing, and distribution . Visitors will have the opportunity to explore a diverse range of specialty coffees and indulge in exclusive tastings, immersing themselves in the artistry and craftsmanship behind every cup.
World of Coffee 2025 promises to be an unparalleled experience, uniting professionals, and coffee lovers alike. It is inspiring to see the world come together through this beloved beverage, yet sustainability remains a critical challenge. The specialty coffee sector, valued at USD 27.8 billion in 2024, is projected to grow 9.5% by 2030 as per Grand View Research, and driven by artisan roasters and independent coffee shops offering single-origin and micro-lot coffees. This growing movement could be the key to ensuring the long-term sustainability of the coffee industry.
